What we believe
We believe in simple things made by hand from the land and enjoyed together at the family table. We like shaping clay, working with animals, and sharing the gifts of the garden. We think milk and honey are awesome things. We love handcrafted artisan cheeses, dairy goats, homemade jams, bees and old barns. We believe in the preservation of clean water, historic buildings, family history, heritage breeds, and culinary traditions. This gives us healthy land, families, animals, food and communities.
We believe in the power of youth, the creative process, teaching what we learn and baking pies. We believe children belong outside in fresh air with hands digging in dirt during all seasons. The food we share connects people to farms. We will strive to produce the highest quality artisan dairy products in small batches using the collective knowledge of traditional methods and the modern benefit of technological advances. As farmers and friends we will guide the journey from our pastures to your table.
We will deliver to market good food that is good for you, and work to protect the diversity of farm products available. This prevents against the complete homogenization of food and the industrialization of American agriculture. Growing and harvesting local crops protects our food systems and our national security. Living lives of meaning and significance will have lasting impact on our company and our community. Our goal is to share what we have and help those less fortunate when possible, so that all people have access to fresh, nutrient dense foods from the farm regardless of economic condition.
We believe in people and the fair and equitable treatment of all. Education, agriculture, the arts, cultural expressions, and the skilled trades enrich our world and add necessary and important variations to the landscape. We believe in Ohio and have chosen to live here because of its' bounty: in land, microclimates, and people. It is our home and a beautiful, wonderful place to be. The magical combination of luck, effort, skill, passion and risk will guide this life adventure. We will do good deeds and make great cheeses, celebrating the gifts of the land and showcasing the delicious milk, healthy animals, sunlight, and grass of our family farm.
